Missing in action

I must apologise for not one post in February! With Instagram and Facebook the poor blog is neglected lately. Let's catch up now.
I had a recent workshop at The Crafty Hive at Loftus. I wasn't even aware of the shop til Angela contacted me but what a treat! It's  really three shops in one - wool, haby and fabric. This was a surprise show and tell. You Little Beauty looking fab. The girls are working their way  thru Lots of Dots.
Lisa has made two versions of African Queen below and don't you love that border fabric.

Jess' wonky curves from Summer School are ready for quilting. Can't wait to see what she does.

And Alison from the isle of Geurnsey is working her way thru Pickled Fish. Wow! There's a collection of them on Instagram if you're interested. Just search for #pickledfishquilt

Our Springwood Quilt show has a great write up in the QuiltNSW Template newsletter. Thanks so much and we hope to see lots of visitors. Check the show blog for details.

QuiltNSW recently held a Sew-in with around 20 interested members coming along. Susan gave us a demo on rope bowls and I did a short one on big stitch hand quilting. It was such a good day with a real buzz in the room. Next one is at The Armoury at Homebush. Can't wait!

On the design wall in class this week was Vivians reproduction Dutch quilt. An exercise in borders made to fit that preprinted centre panel.

I'm following a month of different posts on Instagram and one was "where it all happens". This is my at-home classroom where some of us have met for the last 16 years! I find that so hard to believe.
The bottom one is my sewing room in the house. Lots of natural light and a big table for pinning etc.

Among other happenings I attended the Quilt Australia conference in Sydney and I was a spotter. That entailed spotting delegates who wished to speak and noting who's first etc. A very interesting day with guilds from each state and territory attending.

Once again don't forget our Springwood Quilt Show last weekend in April. You'll see so many amazing quilts and Anne Sommerlad as our featured quilter. Not to mention 10 shops for some retail therapy and a great cafe.
