Class quilts

Lots has been happening in classes lately with finishes all over the place.
Vicki's table centre made from a Layer Cake.

This is a new project started at Hobbysew Top Ryde and it's to be a grand piano cover!!
Nothing like a challenge is there. You can see the size of the compass (5ft across) by the feet in the pic. Three lovely girls are coming together to make this for their school piano. It will be wonderful I'm sure - we just have to get there!

Here's the size of 3/16ths of the circle - nearly a quarter.
I'll keep you up to speed with our progress.

This little gem is from my Lots of Dots quilt. The group at Hobbysew Kings park are on a fussy cutting mission trying to outdo each other with precision.
It's only about 10" across and made up of english-pieced wedges but it sure would look great as a large medallion centre. Well done Sue - your turn now Jenny!

Two completed Jacobean Star quilt tops. Can't wait to see them quilted.

Great use of that striped fabric.
Barbara has been a long time on this Prickly Pines but all of a sudden it's coming together.

Ann's done a fine job with this Mariners Madness - such subtle colours too!

We're getting ready for quilt camp around here - 30 girls sewing away all weekend. Can't wait.
And we've made a start on our Springwood Quilt Show raffle quilt for next year already!
Hop on over to the show blog and check out our sewing day last Saturday.

  1. I always say this when I see your class photos but I'll say it again- WOW!! Everything is amazing from that giant compass to that polka dot fussy flower.

  2. That is one giant size compass! What will the 3/16th be like...looking forward to the next episode. I like the Lots of Dots English pieced wedges and the Jacobean star quilts are all stunning there is some serious piecing going on in your Patchwork Classes Chris. All inspirational.
