Holidays!

Holidays are to be treasured! I've taken the month of August off from teaching and spent a few days in Vanuatu. What a relaxing and beautiful place.
We swam, read heaps, went sailing, ate too much and rested a lot.

We stayed in one of these and listened to the water so close at night.
Great views from Iririki Resort's several pools.
Our friendly crew on a visit to a turtle sanctuary.

A sunset cruise topped it off.
It's a beautiful country/group,of islands and the locals are so friendly.
But they are so poor and still rebuilding after cyclone Pam last year. We had no problem spending to help out the economy which pretty much relies on tourism.
Now for some more relaxing at home!
Only until next week when I'm off to adelaide for the Australian Machine Quilting Festival where I'll be a student for a change in four "working with rulers"classes.
If you'll be there too let me know and we can catch up.

  1. What a lovely holiday! Love turtles too - they may be my spirit animal.
