Wanna come to Houston next year?

With me? Yes that's right - I'm co-hosting a Travelrite tour to the US in October next year with Michelle Marvig! I can hardly believe it, let me tell you.

18 days of quilty delights, culminating in four days at IQF in Houston where we'll meet up with Michelle's group of Aussie quilters.

I can email you a detailed itinerary or I'll have some brochures in the next week to post out so contact me if you're interested. It should be an amazing trip and I'm so honoured to have been asked along.

Last one for the year

I'm on holidays now for nearly seven weeks! Sewing time for myself and lots of chilling. Here's some pics from the last few classes.
I hope you all have a safe and happy Xmas and I'll be back in the New Year with some very exciting news!

QC and Thelmas Cottage

Have you seen the latest issue of Quilters Companion magazine - issue 82? I'm the featured dvd this time with my Pickled Fish quilt. It was such a hoot filming way back in July and they do a great job to make us all look our best on the day. The pics in the mag are excellent too so if you give this foundation pieced project a go please send me some pics of your blocks.

Up-close peek...
...before quilting .A good scrap-buster too!
Recently I spent the weekend at Thelma's Cottage, Belinda Betts' fantastic studio in the hills outside Orange. Day one was my Crown Jewels quilt below, with EPP dresden-like blocks.
Here's the lovely host with hers, whipped up in a flash.

 Look at that fussy-cutting!
Morganne, all the way from Griffith.

 Auditioning.
 Wow Sue!
Day two was the more involved Pickled Fish block from the QC magazine. The girls all came armed with their own copy and we set to foundation piecing those pickles.
Beautiful work from everyone and all different.
And this last one is by Janette from @fatquarterbird on IG - nice work using Jen Kingwell's lawns I believe.

Not long now til my Xmas break - really looking forward to that!
Don't forget the Modern Quilt Show on this weekend at Glebe Town Hall.

Harrington workshops

Four full days of workshops in Harrington recently and I was a bit weary!
NYB blocks and Mariners Compasses were on the agenda for both groups with two days each in the local community centre.
So many ways to lay out these fabulous blocks.
A combination of both projects.
Compasses were in all styles as you can see below. They look happy don't they!
Harrington is such a lovely seaside village and Pam and the girls made me feel so welcome. I'd go back in a flash.
The teaching year is slowly coming to a close with only two more away gigs for me this year. Spring is all around us here in the Blue Mountains and we must make the most of it before the horrible heat of summer. The garden is bursting out all over.
Just before I went to Harrington my friend Ann and I held a weekend retreat at a local venue.
My workshop was a wonky pickle dish while Ann's was a great bag. I didn't seem to get any bag pics tho!
Some blocks from the weekend and my quilt they were based on below. Good fun all round!
