Lots has happened since I came home from Houston in November...
At our last QuiltNSW meeting for 2017 our raffle quilt for the 2018 show was revealed.
A gorgeous reproduction of the antique Australian Frederica Josephson quilt made by the Quilt Study Group. A cornucopia of fabrics with different pieced hexagons. You must come to the show in June and see it in the flesh!
And suddenly it was Xmas!
Such a funny family day. Little Harper got a karaoke set and we gave it a workout. Hilarious!
The trifle was pretty good too!
Lots of pool and beach days - it's been such a stinker of a summer around Sydney.
The grandkids love the water and are swimming so well for littlies.
A recent highlight was the launching of the Blue Mountains Quilters group.
We had our first get together at Lawson with over 60 attendees!
Its a quilting group for anyone interested, not just Blue Mountains residents. We meet on the first Saturday of each month at Lawson Community Centre. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay up with all the latest news.
And I've had some sewing time too. A recent finish - the poinsettia block and some more adventurous free-form curves.
I also have a project in the latest issue of Quilters Companion magazine, #89. Rising Sun is a great scrap buster and the blocks are a whopping 23" square so you'll get a big quilt quickly.
Go check it out.
I added some ric rac to the binding for a bit of interest.
This is my goal this year. Harper turns 6 in May and I think we'll have some fun with these!
