It's been a busy time since I last posted so there are lots of pics in this one..
First up a return visit to Snake Gully Quilters in Muswellbrook and a stay with lovely Liz and Robert.
Looks like I forgot to take pics of the actual workshop - Noodle Box quilt - but I did take some from show-and-tell at the end. Above is Roz's mini version of my Sunflower quilt. Nice arrangement of lights and darks in the flowers too.
The group has been doing a project with Jenny Rofe using a border print. How good is this WIP!
Jenny brought along her finished Crown Jewels made for her daughter.
And Tammie has been busy with Margaret Rolfe's Cranes quilt - beautiful work.
Now class quilts in no particular order cause I've forgotten when and where I was!
Above is Lisa's nearly finished NYB quilt. Not a good pic and looks amazing in the flesh.
Christina sent me this if her Snowball Circle - love that sashing. It's such a quick quilt with those big blocks.
These are from my Bathurst class - Natasha's NYBs, Linda's Jacobean Star and a block from Patyra's Square Dance WIP.
Trish's NYB with Mariners Madness border. Stunning!
Janette bought this French toile for the centre of her Noodle Box blocks and has started on the quilt-as-you-go process to bring it all together. Can't wait to see this one.
One of the things consuming my time lately has been the Springwood Community Quilt Show held last weekend.
Two new members on the committee, Susan and Vicki had a fun time assembling their first set of frames. They'll certainly be given a spanner again next year!
But it's not just about hanging the quilts. Sandy was busy collating badges for all the volunteers who help out over the weekend - this year we had an staggering 50 helpers over the five days it takes to organise and run the show.
When you volunteer on hanging day it's an opportunity to see all the quilts in advance and get up close and personal with them.
Even husbands are called into action and Graham was there every day in some capacity - hope that bottle of wine was some reward for all your hard work!
We have a Viewers Choice prize each day of the show and our Publicity Officer Rachaeldaisy won it on day three with her Happy as a Clam quilt. See the show blog (written by Rachael) for the Viewers Choice winners on other days and lots of great pics from the show.
Another pic sent to me, this time from Linda in NZ who blogs here. She's done a beautiful job with her Emperors Wheel quilt and has a few posts on the blog about her process with the quilt.
And lastly, a quilt in the latest issue of Homespun magazine. Rolling Star was an exercise in curved piecing and the blocks have 3D prairie points around the outside. The fun border is foundation pieced little fans.
