A new year.

And so it begins all over again. Another year of classes and seeing amazing quilts. Have I ever said I love my job!
Over the Xmas break I finished three quilt tops ready for eager students this year. One is above, part of one below and one is at the quilters already.

And there were two days at Summer School at Hobbysew to keep the brain cells working.

Wonky cut circles and a new take on my All at Sea pattern - blocks set straight on with not-pieced sashing. Different styles but all looked great.

Margaret had hers completely finished in the two days! Well done that girl.

There was even time for a QuiltNSW pop up sewing day at Material Obsession. Great fun catching up with friends and surrounded by all that fabric. There's another one for Guild members coming up on Monday April 10 at Quiltsmith in Annandale. Come along - it's a fun day out!

Then it was Straya Day! Hope you all had a fab day. Mine involved a sausage sizzle and beer. Good stuff!

In all the disgusting 40+deg heat we've had this is what happens at daycare! Lucky ducks 😂😂😂

Creative Construction NZ

The programme for NZ National Quilting Symposium is out now.
With over 60 NZ and International tutors there is a class for everyone. I'm really excited to be amongst the faculty who'll be teaching in Christchurch, 6-10 October 2017.
The registration book was posted out this week and the full listing of classes is now available online. Register for Symposium now so as to secure the lowest possible registration number and to optimise your chances of being allocated your preferred classes and events.

The closing date for priority workshop bookings is 28 February 2017.

You can read my bio on page 98 of the programme and see my list of classes.

First up will be three days of Strippy Sampler using a different technique in each strip.
Make fabric, piece strata, cut and sew freehand curves and tackle some foundation piecing. This quilt has it all.

Then a one day class to make this Pickled Fish block. You'll explore foundation piecing, curved seams, colour and value tips.

And lastly, a one day class for Snowball Circle - big blocks made using freezer paper templates, with curved piecing and colour and value hints thrown in.
I'd love to see you in Christchurch next year, a city undergoing a massive rebuild after the earthquake in 2011.
Hope to see you there!
